The Benefits of Laser Resurfacing Treatments

Whether you are looking to get a fresh, red carpet glow for that big day with a NanoLaserPeelTM, want to go deeper to correct sun damage, wrinkles or actinic keratoses with MicroLaserPeel®, or get full refresh removing entrenched lines and signs of aging with Contour TRL TM (tunable resurfacing laser), we’ve got you covered with an extensive range of laser peels to get you the results you are dreaming of.

Sciton laser peels are fully customizable and our dermatologists will create a treatment plan based on your goals, how soon you are looking to see results, and how much downtime you have.

Laser resurfacing works by removing the outermost layer of your skin. How much is removed? That’s up to you and your dermatologist depending on your goals, available down time, and your unique skin health. Laser resurfacing is generally appropriate for most skin types and can address a range of skin concerns including:

  • Dry, dull skin

  • Fine lines and wrinkles

  • Deep lines and wrinkles

  • Dark spots

  • Texture irregularities

  • Actinic keratoses

  • Pigmentation

  • Scars, including those caused by acne

  • Enlarged pores

  • Mild to moderate skin laxity

  • Hollow areas around eyes, cheeks, and mouth

In 1-4 treatment sessions you can turn back the clock to achieve a more youthful appearance, smooth, even skin texture, and a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles.

Treatment Guide & Expectations for Laser Resurfacing

Laser resurfacing is safe and effective. Possible side effects may vary depending on the depth of the laser peel and can include a period of skin shedding (or peeling), redness, swelling, visible marks, and discomfort. Our board-certified dermatologists will walk you through the most appropriate and comfortable options available to achieve your skin goals.

  • Our board certified dermatologists will help you determine the best treatment plan for your unique skin goals. There will be time to talk through what to expect, side effects and expected results and, of course, answer any questions you may have.

  • We’ll take photos, cleanse your skin, and if a deeper peel, apply numbing cream, which will sit on the skin for about 60 minutes.

  • The treatment begins! We guide a handheld laser device over the skin. Depending on the treatment area, this will take between 15 minutes - 1 hour.

Once the treatment is completed, we apply cool compresses to reduce the heat sensation. We will send you home with after care instructions and our team will check in a few days after your treatment to answer any questions.

  • Intense laser energy activates the skin to stimulate collagen production while also removing the superficial layer of the skin revealing improved texture, even complexion, and overall more younger-looking skin.

  • Discomfort varies depending on which peel you choose, as the depth of laser penetration varies. Your board-certified dermatologists will walk you through the most appropriate and comfortable options available to achieve your skin goals.

  • Laser Resurfacing can deliver dramatic results, but does require some downtime. You can expect:

    NanoLaserPeel TM– 1-3 days downtime

    MicroLaserPeel® – 1-7 days downtime

Contour TRL TM – 8-12 days downtime

  • Laser peels are extremely safe, especially when done under the supervision of a board-certified dermatologist. Potential side effects may include:

-Discomfort, from painless to moderate discomfort, depending on the peel

    -Redness

    -Swelling

-Shedding of outermost layer of skin

  • Results will be noticeable within:

    NanoLaserPeel TM – 3-5 days

    MicroLaserPeel® – 3-5 days

Contour TRL TM – 4-6 months
